Copycat Recipe for Starbucks Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate

Every fall Starbucks releases their holiday drinks including the “Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate”. I LOVE this drink. So much that my typical frugal ways go completely out the window as I fork over almost $5 for one of these!Copycat Starbucks Salted Hot Chocolate

That was until I moved to North Dakota… where the closest Starbucks was 100 miles away!
Starbucks Copycat RecipeI had to figure out how to replicate this wonderful drink. Now that I’ve got it perfected I wanted to share the love. For those of you that question the salt… don’t knock it till you try it. Then you’ll fall in love with the copycat Starbucks salted caramel hot chocolate.
You’ll need: Milk, Sugar, Cocoa, Vanilla, Sea Salt, Hazelnut Syrup (or Toffee Nut from Starbucks), Caramel Sauce, Caramel Drizzle, and Reddi Whip.

I LOVE this drink too, and I’m going to try this for sure (with espresso since I like the mocha version). Thank you!

Yum! I didn’t used to like espresso but it’s grown on me. I might just have to give that a shot!

What part of the store do you usually find the English Toffee Syrup?

If you have a starbucks near you, they will sell you the toffee nut syrup 🙂 Here in California it is $12.95 a bottle.

I actually work at a Starbucks and this recipe is pretty dang close to how we make it; however, there is no caramel in the actual drink, just on top. I may have to try it with the caramel inside now though, this is by far my favorite fall drink!

Wow! Didn’t even realize I hit it so close! But it sure tastes good! I’m so pumped that it’s holiday drink season!

Hello! I am a high school student on my school’s magazine staff and for our next issue my assignment is winter time recipes. I stumbled across this recipe and thought it was perfect for my assignment and I was wondering if it would be okay for me to print it in our magazine issue? I would give credit to http://www.brightgreendoor.com. If it’s not okay for me to use it that’s completely fine! Thank you!
